However, this small step is vitally important in protecting your health. Although rare, allergic reactions to chemicals in hair dye can happen. We have seen evidence that people are developing new allergies in recent years. Even if you have been dying your hair for years you could still be affected. While some minor reactions just cause irritation, more severe allergic responses can lead to swelling, inflammation and anaphylaxis. In some extreme cases, people have even lost their lives as a result.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"\" style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 12pt;color: #000000\">Russell Eaton Salons are committed to putting the safety of our clients first. The danger from hair dye can be completely eliminated by our simple colour sensitivity test, trialling the product on your skin 48 hours prior to any hair colour service. Unfortunately we will not perform a colour service if we have any doubts about the result of your skin test. Whilst the risk of an allergic reaction is small and very rare, we want to completely eradicate the threat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;color: #000000;font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\"><span class=\"\"><span class=\"\">Our expert colourists are thoroughly trained to apply colour products safely and always respect the manufacturers instructions. If you have any concerns regarding a colour sensitivity test please let us know and we will do our best to assist you. We carry a number of the most current advances in colour technologies, including PPD and ammonia-free products. If you have any questions or concerns, please ask your stylist for more information. Please be aware that there is a<\/span><\/span>\u00a0difference between\u00a0sensitivity\u00a0and an\u00a0allergic reaction\u00a0to PPD or other\u00a0hair dye ingredients.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;font-size: 12pt;color: #000000;font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">Sensitivity<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;color: #000000;font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">Sensitivity\u00a0may cause contact dermatitis symptoms, such as;<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt;font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">Burning and stinging<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;color: #000000;font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">Red and dry\u00a0skin<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;color: #000000;font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">Inflamed skin\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;font-size: 12pt;text-decoration: underline\">Allergic reaction<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"\"><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt;font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">If you&#8217;re\u00a0allergic\u00a0to\u00a0hair dye<span class=\"\">, your symptoms can range from mild to\u00a0serious.\u00a0<\/span>If you&#8217;re allergic to PPD, your scalp and face\u00a0may feel itchy and start to swell.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt;font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">PPD may also trigger symptoms throughout your body, such as itching, a nettle rash and generally feeling ill.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt;font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">These symptoms may not develop until hours, or even days, later.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt;font-family: georgia, palatino, serif\">A severe allergic reaction that develops within minutes is called\u00a0<a class=\"\" style=\"color: #000000\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nhs.uk\/conditions\/anaphylaxis\/Pages\/Introduction.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">anaphylaxis<\/a>, or &#8220;anaphylactic shock&#8221;.
